Citizen Police Academy is an intensive 8-week community training program that provides members of the community with a background and deeper understanding of WPD policies and activities, as well as the structure and limit of police power. The program replicates and condenses a typical Bergen County police recruit training regimen, allowing residents to gain a deeper understanding of skills and abilities that police officers bring to their work in the community. Participants in the Citizen Police Academy (CPA) will meet for three hours on Tuesday evenings for eight weeks.

Eligibility: Applicants must be Wyckoff residents between 35 and 65 years of age and pass a criminal background check (Applicant shall not have a felony arrest, misdemeanor conviction for any crime of violence, or be the subject of any pending criminal investigation or criminal court case. Applicant shall not be the respondent of an active Temporary or Final Restraining Order.
